Guards your vehicle from key cloning and prevents thieves from driving the vehicle using original keys. Our most recent immobiliser is connected to the CAN data network of your vehicle and a unique PIN must be entered to start the engine.
Contrary to trackers Ghost doesn’t transmit any radio frequency signals and can’t be detected using diagnostics tools. Ghost does not have LED indicators or buttons that could indicate its presence in your van or car.
Anti-key cloning
The ghost immobiliser has been created to fight key hacking and cloning. This device connects with your vehicle’s data network CAN, and creates an unique pin code using the factory buttons in your dashboard and steering. This prevents thieves from being able to start your vehicle. If the incorrect PIN is entered, it will stop the engine from starting which makes it impossible for you to drive away with your pride and Joy.
Ghost immobilisers employ an innovative technology that is extremely difficult for thieves to beat. The ghost immobiliser is different from physical deterrents like wheel locks or steering lock that can be cut, is a discreet electronic device. It isn’t identified by thieves since it emits no radio signals and functions in a quiet manner.
This next-generation immobiliser can protect your vehicle from a range of threats, including key hacking relay attacks, key hacking and copied copies. It also stops thieves from stealing keys or replacing your ECU because it won’t permit them to start the car without first entering the correct PIN code.
Contrary to other immobilisers, the ghost immobiliser 2 doesn’t require any additional key fobs or remotes to operate. It can be deactivated by the driver’s smartphone by using a simple app. This is a great option when you have to hand your car away for valet parking, or servicing without the key fobs.
The Autowatch Ghost-II represents the latest version of the Ghost immobiliser. It is designed to make it as easy and convenient to use, while still being as secure as is possible. This is accomplished by connecting the Ghost-II with the vehicle’s CAN data network, which means there aren’t any wires that could be concealed or easily discovered. It also comes with an integrated feature that allows you to disable your Ghost-II by connecting it to the vehicle’s Bluetooth and you’ll be able to get in and drive, hassle free.
OBD port hacking
OBD port hacking is the newest method employed by professional car thieves to steal vehicles. Thieves are able to access your vehicle’s OBD port with nothing more than a laptop, an app, and a few cables, which can be bought online for under PS50. Once they have access to your vehicle’s OBD port, they will be able to do whatever they like from resetting fault codes and tuning your car to taking your joy and pride away in less than a minute.
If you have a Ghost immobiliser fitted it can protect your vehicle from theft with this method by needing a unique PIN code sequence is entered on the fob of your key in order to start the engine and drive away. It does this by communicating with the vehicles ECU (Engine Control Unit) via the CAN Data circuit and is indetectable to any code grabbing or RF scanning technology. It even includes a Service/Valet mode that allows your vehicle to be started without the need for a PIN code.
To utilize an OBD hacking device you need to have a laptop with software capable of interpreting the OBD protocol. This is available for less than PS100 on ebay or Amazon. You’ll also require an OBD cable that has OBD pins that connect to the CAN bus, these are available on eBay and Amazon for around PS50. The cable has to be spliced into the wiring harness of your car, such as the radio wiring harness.
Once the hacker has established a connection to your vehicles OBD port, they are able to send diagnostics requests to the system at a high baud rate which will crash the CAN and block systems in your car from working. This can cause the engine to stall, doors to lock and even the brakes to be engaged.
No additional remotes or key fobs required.
The car immobiliser is a fantastic piece of anti-theft technology that is utilized by millions of modern cars all over the world. An aftermarket immobiliser protects your vehicle by using engine ECU software that prevents cars from starting when an untrue transponder signal is sent.
However, it can be easy for thieves to get around an immobiliser system when they have access to the code to deactivate it. The battery in most key fobs is easily removed by removing it and a burglar can use a simple tool to take out the immobiliser’s circuit board and replace it with an empty. They will then be able start your car.
With the TASSA approved Ghost 2 immobiliser, there are no remotes or keys to be purchased. The immobiliser connects to the engine ECU (Engine Control Unit) via a discrete, silent data circuit in CAN that is unnoticeable with diagnostic tools such as those used by high-tech thieves. It does not include a traditional keyfob, which has an LED indicators, which means it’s inaccessible.
There will be instances that you must deactivate Autowatch Ghost 2’s auto-protection for example, when you are doing the valet parking or service work. The ghost CAN immobiliser comes with a specific mode for this, referred to as ‘Service Mode which can be activated with just pressing a button on your phone. The car can still be operated however, the maximum speed is restricted to 36mph for greater security.

Simple PIN code change process
Ghost is the latest generation of device that locks your car without cutting wires, or installing aftermarket key fobs. It is directly connected to the vehicles CAN data network and a personalised PIN code is programmed into it by pressing buttons on your steering wheel & dash. The system blocks engine start and cannot be bypassed as no RF signals are emitted from the device. This makes it unrecognisable by sophisticated scanning or code grabbing techniques that modern thieves employ.
The PIN code sequence can be altered whenever you want to lock out previous drivers. It even comes with an override code incase of forgotten sequences. The installer will demonstrate how to do this during installation. The system includes a valet mode feature that allows you to temporarily disable pin input sequences so that the garage or mechanic can work on the vehicle without knowing the code. This is ideal for those who wish to surrender their vehicle for valet parking or service, but don’t want to divulge the pin sequence.
In contrast to Thatcham products which require additional key fobs to operate, Ghost is a discreet system that uses the buttons in your vehicle to create a unique interchangeable PIN code sequence. This sequence is entered through the app on your smartphone. No additional LED indicators are thrown, and your vehicle is secured without risk of being disabled.
Every vehicle is tested
A ghost immobiliser, in contrast to key fobs that require pressing buttons, is hidden under the dash or on the steering wheel. You won’t even know it’s there. The device is connected to the vehicle’s CAN data network and an individual PIN code is programmed using existing buttons on your car. The system then prevents your engine from starting unless this code has been entered before. This means that thieves can’t duplicate the keys of your car or use the OBD to hack into it.
Ghost can be installed in all vehicles, including electric vehicles, motorhomes, vans and bikes. Ghost is also extremely flexible and can be set to deactivate in various situations. For instance, it can be set to enter Valet mode when the vehicle is taken to a valet park or a service provider. This means that your car can be operated within a set 30mph speed limit and the ghost immobiliser will be activated when it is returned to your property.
Another excellent feature is that the device can be reset to your personal PIN code at any time. This is helpful when you forget the code or the device ceases to function, meaning that it’s effectively like new.
The device is inaccessible to anyone who doesn’t know what it is. It does this by analyzing the buttons on your dashboard and steering wheel and then using the information it sends to determine which button was pressed. This makes it a safe and solid security system that is not able to be altered by RF scanning or jamming, or even a door lock pick set.
