Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless Headphones Review
These closed-back headphones are a great option for those who want to save money on high-quality headphones. They don’t offer the same immersive and spacious soundstage as open-back ones however they still provide excellent audio quality.
These wireless over-ear headphones are comfortable and have an adequate level of ANC. They also have a companion app with EQ presets and a replaceable coiled cable.
HD 600
This classic pair of headphones with an open back from Sennheiser is among the best in its price range. They have good sound quality, comfort, and replaceable parts. They have a wide soundstage that accurately depicts instruments and vocals however some might feel that they lack bass. Some listeners may find their slightly bright tone annoying.
The HD 600 is an extremely durable and comfortable lightweight headphone. Its construction uses a combination of metal, plastic, and Velour. The headband is cushioned with foam and clamps lightly on the ears. The ear cups can be adjusted to fit larger heads. The cable is detachable and can be replaced with a larger version should it be needed.
These headphones require an amplifier in order to perform effectively. The amplifier will make the frequencies more smooth and balanced and reduce distortion. Use an audiophile headset stand to guard the headphones from being damaged by foreign objects. The headphone stand also keeps the cord out of the way. This is advantageous because it’s long.
The Sennheiser HD600 headphones work great for neutral listening and provide accurate reproduction of high-resolution audio. The spacious design and open soundstage make them perfect for audio systems at home. The HD 600s are compatible with many audio sources, including vinyl, CDs and digital files. They also have an outstanding frequency response, and their neodymium magnets deliver excellent sound.
The only reason the HD 600s aren’t a 10/10 is that they can be a little too bright for some users. They are still one of the most highly-rated and well-loved headphones rated by reviewers. These headphones is a great upgrade for anyone looking to replace the standard headphones that came with their portable electronic devices. The cost is a bit high, but it’s worth it because of the quality. The HD 600s are the perfect investment for audiophiles. They are also good for those who love classical music because they faithfully reproduce the performance.
HD 650
The HD 650 is an open-back headphones made for audiophiles. They have an extremely neutral response, allowing listeners to hear all the details of the music without being overpowered by bass or other frequencies. They are a great choice for mixing engineers who want to hear everything in their mixes and want to avoid fatigue that can result from listening to headphones with a strong emphasis on certain frequencies. The HD 650 also have above-average consistency in the bass range, meaning that they will sound similar regardless of how you position and wear them. However, they’re not as consistent in the treble frequency range, and depending on the position you place them and your ear shape you may experience up to 6dB of variance.
The HD 650s are comfortable to wear for long periods of time because the headband and earpads are made from a soft and comfortable material. The headband is cushioned to prevent it from exerting too much pressure on your ears. The large elliptical cups will comfortably fit any ear size. The ear pads provide ample air circulation, which helps prevent your ears from becoming too hot when you listen for long periods of time. The headphone weighs 269 grams without the cable, which makes it light enough to be worn for long periods of time.
The headphones feature a professional design and are made from top-quality materials. The ear pads and headband are made of soft resilient velour and foam, making them comfortable even after long listening sessions. The headphones come with a removable OFC copper cable with low handling noise, sensitivity to structure-borne sound and low handling noise. It can be used with both premium stationary hi-fi gear as well as mobile devices.
The HD 650 headphones are a fantastic pair. While there are headphones with more impressive specifications, their high-quality construction and outstanding audio quality is a fantastic choice for anyone who loves music in pure, uncolored manner. It is possible that you don’t like every color used by the artist, but you can appreciate the aesthetics of the overall image.
MOMENTUM
Sennheiser’s MOMENTUM headphones are one of its most popular active noise cancellation (ANC) headphone models. With a strong track record and a competitive price point that is affordable, the MOMENTUM 4 Wireless headphones have tough competition from the latest offerings from Bose, Sony, and Apple, but they offer plenty of features that warrant your consideration if you’re on the market for ANC headphones.
The ear cups have a fairly substantial amount of padding and are designed to sit comfortably on your ears. They also feature soft leatherette material on the top portion of the band that goes around your head. The band is flexible enough to fit glasses. I found it comfortable for a long time.
The MOMENTUM Wireless is a balanced headphone unlike ANC headphones that over-emphasize the bass or highs. That’s a good thing, because it offers an even representation of the music and speech you listen to. They do veer slightly into the realm of boosting at lower frequencies but it’s a typical feature of headphones targeted at commuters, where outside noise can be competing with low-level music and speech.
The MOMENTUM Wireless noise reduction is superb similar to other top performers in the ANC category. It’s not as great as our top ANC headphones, but it’s close. You can also delay projects by two clicks until the next quarter making them a great option for listening work or school.
The MOMENTUM Wireless can be connected to an Bluetooth device and you can select from SBC, AAC or aptX codecs. The 3.5mm jack on the headphone can be used to listen to sources without Bluetooth support.
The MOMENTUM Wireless has an array of microphones that allow users to make and receive calls. The microphone is adequate but not the best for conversations on the phone. The microphone is still superior to the ones found on many entry-level headphones.
